Angel Stories

Angel Stories and Encounters

One of my most favorite things is to listen to the stories of others when they have encountered an Angel.  There are many stories some touch your heart as lives are saved while others share with us great strengths and innate wisdoms.

I'd like to share with you an event which happened to me during my relocation from San Diego to Colorado Springs back in 2008.  While the story may be somewhat lengthy.  It is important to read it in its entirety to fully understand it's beauty....I hope you enjoy

I have been wanting to share the experience of our trip with you, it was quite the adventure (truth be told, I should have flown!) We ended up not having much help in loading the u-haul so it took almost 2 full days to load it and then the final cleaning, so we didn't leave san diego until 11:30pm Wednesday night. This turned out for the best, (our first Angelic encounter) as there was no traffic and it turned out that my daughter's boyfriend had never driven a 24 foot u-haul pulling an auto transporter with his pick-up behind it, so this gave him a chance to get used to it. We drove about 150 miles and stopped to eat with my daughter's dad before leaving the state.

It was about 2:30 am before we left there...the drive was nice, many stars and I was very relaxed. (I'm not a very good passenger..) we hit the CA/AZ state line as the sun was beginning to rise, the price of gas in Needles, Ca was $4.89 a gallon...can you believe that! We dropped in a few gallons and moved along to Kingman....the road to Flagstaff was bumpy and under construction. By this time I was tired as we hadn't had any sleep, so my nerves began to grow short....We reached Flagstaff and fueled just as it was beginning to snow....(second Angelic Encounter)...

We reached Holbrook, which is about 1 1/2 hours or so west of Gallup, NM...it looked like we were about to enter a terrible rain storm, it had been windy the entire trip. We had people monitoring the weather for us...we hit only one minor rain storm which lasted maybe 5 miles and not much rain.....(our third Angelic Encounter)....We fueled again in Grants, which is about 100 miles west of Albuquerque. We arrived there Thursday evening, just as it was getting dark. The clouds were dark, dense, and low on the mountains, looked like snow. At this point we thought we were only about 5 hours from Co Springs, according to mapquest (which by the way is NOT correct...)

After discussing our options and speaking to some of the locals, we decided to push on...NOW, here's where the major Angelic Encounter comes into play...I fully believe in my heart, that had it not have been for all of you who asked for Angelic protection for us, we would have NOT made it here.....Between Albuquerque and Sante Fe there was road construction. You know how they take you from your side of the highway to the other side, like a big S??....Well, as we hit this one, there was a semi truck in front of us, one besides us and two behind us and concrete barriers all around us....since the truck drivers were doing the speed limit, we were forced to as well or get run over. I had a panic attack and knew that we were going to die!...you see, ALL the other S curves we had to go through with the road construction ALL went from two lanes down to one EXCEPT this one.....it stayed 2 lanes.....at that moment of panic, all I could feel was the presence of the Angels and I knew that all would be OK.....we came out of it without a single scratch, dent or catastrophe!! PHEW!

By now, still no sleep and after that experience all I wanted to do was get out of the truck!! But we pused on!.....Now, we found ourselves driving through twisty, windy roads in some mountain pass between Sante Fe, NM and Colorado...it was pitch black, cold and the speed limit was 75 mph, can you believe that!...I freaked out cause the auto-transporter kept catching the lip of the side of the road and would begin to sway, so I made Jay drive slow...we were getting passed by semi's going at least 75 and it would blow us over close to the edge of the road....we drove and drove and drove for hours....our fuel gage almost 200 miles later was still showing FULL.....with no town in site and the air very cold, again, just as I was about to freak out, I felt the presence of the Angels who came to calm my nerves.

We finally came to a town called Las Vegas...nope not Nevada, but New Mexico....we stopped to just get out and stretch and gain our composure...and the fuel gage still read FULL....we decided to top off the tank, not knowing how far till the next fuel stop....it took just shy of $200 to fill it....(another Angelic Encounter)... who knows how long we were running on Fumes!!!....We opened the door of the trailer to get some blankets to keep us warm and when we did this, I had one of those 5 gallon glass jar about 1/3 of the way filled with pennies and the jar fell out, busted and pennies went everywhere....all we could do was laugh...what a tension breaker that was for sure.......

The rest of the journey I was on pins and needles and just wanted out...I tried to find comfort with the Angels, but I allowed my mind and fears to get the best of me...we finally hit the mountain range crossing into the co state line, while it was beautiful from what we could tell at night, it was steep 6 & 8% grades, again, another freak out for me...by this time the moon had set behind the Rockies and it was pitch black, it was so black I can't even find a word to describe the darkness....but the sky was filled with a gazillion and 2 stars, it was the most spectacular thing I have ever seen in my life....I call this another Angelic encounter as the Angels showed me the beauty of the Universe, even within darkness. It was so dark however, it put you into a trance, so we stopped just shy of Pueblo to get a few hours of sleep.

We woke up early Friday morning and finished the last 150 miles...total travel time was about 33 hours.....far cry from the 17 hours that mapquest said it would take.....when we pulled up to our apartment building, it make the whole trip worthwhile. We sit right at the foothills of the Cheyenne Mountains. The only thing which separates us from the mountain is a high school...We are only 1 1/2 miles from what is called Seven Falls (it's a giant waterfall with 7 different levels)....the view from our living room and my bedroom window is of the entire east valley of Co Springs....

Please leave your comments as to how my own story touched you and I invite you to please share your own Angel Story or Encounter in the comments......
